FAQ

Why do you do this kind of business for elderly and disabled?

Rey and Chona wanted to operate a Senior Adult Family living home as the result of both personal and employment experiences. Chona’s father suffers from Dementia and through personal experience they could help others in similar circumstances. Chona also gained interest during her employment at Allenmore Hospital where she saw first-hand how there was a need for a familial environment where personalized care could be given to the elderly in need. After approaching several adult family home owners, it was Don and Jackie Kim who believed in Rey and Chona and mentored them into their role as owners/operators of Living Life Care Home.

What are the differences between a skilled nursing facility (SNF) and an Adult Family Home?

SNF are large institutions where medical doctors, nurses, and other health care providers are on their payroll. In terms of the ratio for residents per caregivers is too high, and caregivers cannot deliver personalized and individualized care services. In AFH the setting is residential, and we can have up to six (6) residents. A variety of outside health care providers make home visits services regularly and our residents hardly need to make outside doctors appointment.

What are the special features of Living Life Care Home?

Our mission is to provide the highest and sustainable care in the long term care industry. We admit pre-screened residents. We have steady employees with high goal in mind. We do a team approach in caring residents with strong commitment with family members and home-visit health care service agencies. Unlike a small residential setting, all record keeping is done by a networked computer system. All our rooms are private with a lavatory/sink, private telephone line, and high speed internet access. We also have wheelchair lift van, nurse call and wireless security system. We are a member of the Pierce County Health Care Providers Council, and Washington State Residential Care Council.

How can I place my parent in Living Life Care Home?

It is required to have a Comprehensive Assessment done by a Registered Nurse who analyzes the resident health condition and creates a care plan. It costs about $350.00 to be paid by the family. Unless there is certain reason, we prefer to have an Assessment done by Sandy Pearson, RN.

How much do you charge for the services?

Our monthly rate depends on the level of care provided. Our first level of care which is the minimal amount of assistance starts at $3,795. Incontinence supplies, dental cleaning supplies, nutritional drinks and grooming aids are included in the rate.

When are visiting hours?

You may visit at any time. However we prefer that you visit between 8 AM and 8 PM.

Our residents vary from receiving care in areas such as Hospice, a physical disability, stroke, Alzeheimer’s/Dementia, Parkinson’s.

What types of payment do you accept?
